Smith and Wesson 340 Reviews:

Overall Rating: review stars, 3 out of 5 possible stars 3 out of 5

Purpose: Defense/Law Enforcement

"Typical well made Smith and Wesson product. I have owned many. I can't fault the revolver for the middle score I posted. The drawback for me, and the other seven men that shot this gun is this; after three shots, at least two of the digits on your firing hand go numb. Every shooter experienced this, either two fingers, and for one shooter, three fingers. It is a lot of power in a small, extremely light frame, and is actually painful to shoot a .357 from. I have shot .38 +P+ from this and my 442, and the 442 does better at just three ounces more to carry."
