Springfield Armory TRP Stainless Steel Pistol product photo

The Springfield Armory TRP Stainless 1911 combines exceptional good looks with a number of performance-enhancing features. The satin finish stainless steel frame and slide are complemented by the G10 composite grips for an attractive package. The fact that the stainless slide and frame are forged means you'll have a durable gun, and the G10 grips are as tough as the frame and slide.

The barrel is match grade stainless, and has a match grade barrel bushing as well. A one piece guide rod aids in dependability.

The TRP models are meant for combat, and this model is equipped with three-dot combat sights. The three dots are tritium-illuminated, allowing you to get quick sight alignment even in darkness.

You'll be able to do fast reloads thanks to the wide bevelled magazine well, and you'll be able to slap the magazines home easily with the slam pads on the bottom of the two supplied magazines.

The TRP Stainless 1911 comes with an ambidextrous safety, both for left-handed shooters as well as for right-handers who need to shoot weak hand, for competition or in self defense.

The match grade trigger has a smooth pull weight of 4.5 to 5 pounds, which is excellent for combat as well as bullseye shooting.

The slide has front and rear serrations to make racking the slide easier. The checkered front strap gives you a solid grip on the pistol.

Taken together, these features make the TRP Stainless 1911 a great choice for competition, carry or just punching paper.

Every Springfield Armory 1911 pistol is equipped with a trigger locking device. A key inserted into a hole in the rear grip strap positively locks the trigger, making it impossible for a child to accidentally discharge the gun. This system gives you a choice as to whether or not you need to lock your gun. Unlike trigger locks on other brands of guns, the keyhole is small, so that it doesn't ruin the looks of the gun.

"I love this pistol.I,am primarily aGlock shooter.Imhad been wanting one of these, but they were hard to find. byaccident I walked into a local gun store with a buddy of mine.walking around and looking in the cases,I found this stainless TRP. They knew me since I had already bought a couple of guns from them. They wanted $1475 for the gun ,but they offered 3% discount for cash. they were willing to treat my check as cash. I bought it on the spot as I just happened to have an unclaimed $1500 in I my account.a quick check of my FLF CCW Permit and vI,walked out with my new 1911.I took it home and cleaned it. the following day,I took,it to the range. I,am an enthusiastic if not particularly proficient shooter. This gun makes any one who shoots it a better shooter. It is dead nuts accurate and has a flawless trigger that breaks right at 4#. I have now put about 500 rounds through it with no issues at all..If it weren't so heavy,I would carry it instead f my Glock G23.If you are in the market for a nice 1911, give the one a look. better still, rent one if you can. I suspect you will love it too."

" Some weeks ago I purchased a SS TRP. As a single action shooter for decades, I have always had an interest in the 1911. I looked at several manufactures... Colt, Kimber, Wilson, just to name a few, but purchased the Springfield Armory.

Being a single action guy, I was not familiar with Springfield Armory. It was most definitely the right choice. Yesterday, my first day at the range, I fired 200 rounds without any misfires, misfeeds, or malfunctions.

It shot 1.5" groups at 25yds., cycles faster than I than I am capable at this point, and the recoil is less than 9mm's I've shot.

I can't imagine more gun for the money, anywhere! "

"This firearm has been 100% reliable using the supplied magazines along with Ed Brown and Chip McCormack magazines. Trigger pull and accuracy is superb. My TRP came with checkered cocobolo grips and gave an excellent grip but may be too rough for inside the waistband carry against bare skin. For that mode of carry I switch to Hogue finger grooove wrap around rubber grips. These Hogue grips are not for individuals with short fingers. As a personal preference I replaced the two piece full length guide rod with a standard length rod from Springfield Armory. Still have 100% reliablity. I trust my life to this gun. Depending on my attire I carry in any of the following holsters: Galco strong side thumb break holster, Galco small of the back holster, Biachi vertical shoulder holster, Bianchi Professional inside the wasitband holster, and if walking in the woods a fanny pack holster. I have many options in Northern Maine as temperatures can drop to -30 degrees in winter to 100 degrees in summer."

"This is my first 1911 pistol, and after wanting one for so long, I am glad I was sold the TRP Stainless. This pistol is accurate from 3 yards to 25 yards, even as far as 50 yards, good grouping was accomplished. My TRP came with a two piece guide rod and after cleaning, be sure to tighten it appropriately, otherwise it could back out over the course of fire. If you are interested in this pistol, do not hesitate, and feel confident that this pistol will be accurate and reliable when it counts!"

"Purchased it yesterday and shoot it today with my son. It's at the top of my collection. Beautiful gun. We fired 100 rounds of different loads with zero misfeeds. Several 1.5 groups from 10, 15, and 25 yards. I recommend it."
