Springfield Armory TRP Armory Kote 1911 pistol product photo

If you're looking for a tough-finished 1911 loaded with performance features, take a look at the Springfield Armory TRP Armory Kote 1911. It has Springfield's black Armory Kote® finish, which stands up to wear much better than parkerizing, anodizing or plain bluing. The G10 composite grips aren't just good-looking, they're tough, too.

For performance, this TRP has a stainless match grade barrel along with a match grade stainless barrel bushing, which is removed easily with a supplied wrench for field stripping. The pistol has a full length guide rod for extra dependability.

The aluminum match grade trigger is performance tuned. With a pull weight of just 4.5 to 5 pounds, it's a great trigger for target shooting.

A wide mouth bevelled magazine well allows you fast reloads, even when you're having to go by feel in low light. Speaking of low light, the low profile combat sights have three tritium dots that give you fast target reference in darkness.

The front strap is checkered for a firm hold on the pistol. Front and rear slide serrations allow you to grab the slide with either hand, even at odd angles, to cycle the slide.

The two supplied magazines have slam pads to aid in fast reloads.

All of the above features make for a dependable, high performance 1911 pistol. That's why the TRP models have become one of Springfield Armory's most popular models.

Every Springfield Armory 1911 pistol is equipped with a trigger locking device. A key inserted into a hole in the rear grip strap positively locks the trigger, making it impossible for a child to accidentally discharge the gun. This system gives you a choice as to whether or not you need to lock your gun. Unlike trigger locks on other brands of guns, the keyhole is small, so that it doesn't ruin the looks of the gun.

"The looks, accuracy, and durability of this weapon put it right up there with any of the high-end 1911's on the market today. I would highly recommend it for duty carry and certainly for off-duty as well."

"When the TRPs came out, I just had to have one. They looked cool and the reviews were really good. The reviews were mostly right. I don't think the Armory Kote is everything they said it would be, but it's decent. Otherwise a great gun. I shoot IDPA with it and I get good scores, so I'm happy."

"Bought as one of my off duty carry weapons, this has been one of the best out-of-the-box pistols I've shot. Excellent weight and feel. Trigger is fantastic and re-set is nicer than my Kimber CDP. This has become my primary off-duty weapon. I find the Armory Kote finish very resistant to daily carry. Overall a very nice protection pistol."

"The gun shoots well and the recoil is not bad. The saftey is sticky and will get better while I break the gun in. Nice 1911 for the money."
