Springfield Armory Custom Loaded Long Slide 1911 Pistol product photo

For those who take target shooting very seriously, Springfield Armory offers the Loaded Long Slide 1911 pistol. A full inch longer than standard 1911's, the Long Slide gives you better accuracy with its 6" barrel and 7.9" sight radius. The additional forward weight also reduces recoil, allowing you to stay on target more easily for fast follow-up shots. The longer barrel also gives you higher velocity than standard 5" barrels.

Like all Loaded models, the Long Slide combines good looks with thoughtful engineering. The flats on the stainless steel slide and frame are satin finish, with the rounded edges matte, giving it a subtle two-tone look. The Cocobolo grips stand out distinctively against the stainless.

The sights are fully adjustable target sights. The trigger has a pull of 5-6 pounds, and is specially tuned for competition shooting. The ambidextrous safety is meant for both left-handed shooters as well as competition shooters doing weak-hand drills. The front and rear slide serrations make it easier to rack the slide with either hand.

The adjustable sights are made by Novak, and are considered to be some of the best on the market. The rear notch and front sight blade align with just enough "air" around the sight picture to let you know that your sight blade is centered. Once adjusted, they stay adjusted, even after thousands of rounds.

If you're serious about shooting bullseye with a 1911, you'll want to take a look at the Springfield Armory Long Slide.
